HMYC Midlands Dart Challenge Dates: 25 – 26 April 2026 Venue: Henley Midmar Yacht Club, Midmar Dam, KZN. Organising Authority: HENLEY MIDMAR YACHT CLUB and the DART CLASS NOTICE OF RACE 1 RULES The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 2 Boats participating in this regatta shall conform to the Equipment Rules of Sailing. 3 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS HMYC Sailing Instructions. See Addendum 1 for example Sailing Course. Course to be presented at Race Briefing 4 COMMUNICATION The regatta official notice board is located in the HMYC Clubhouse. Communication will also be via WhatsApp. 5 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 5.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Dart Class. 5.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing on-line using the HMYC Portal. The entry fee is R100 per boat. Entries need to be in by Friday 24 April 2026. 5.3 To be considered an entry in the event, a boat shall complete all registration requirements and pay all fees. 5.4 The regatta shall be open to all owner(s) and helmsman of Dart 18’s 6 SCHEDULE 6.1 The regatta is open to all boats of the Dart Class. 6.2 Dates of racing: Racing from 25 to 26 April 2026. 6.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the first race will not be before 11h00 on the 25 April 2026. 6.4 The scheduled time for the warning signal for subsequent days will be determined the day before. 6.5 A race briefing will be held prior to racing on 25 April 2026. 6.6 A maximum of 10 races are scheduled. 6.7 On the last scheduled day of racing no warning signal will be made after 14h00. 8 PRIZES AND MEDALS Prizes will be given as follows: • 1 to 3 prizes depending upon entries 9 RISK STATEMENT RRS 3 states: “The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone.” Competitors participate in this event entirely at their own risk.
